Environmental Management Policy
For a better use of resources
Environmental management is a fundamental aspect of our business policy, which shows our commitment in relation to compliance with obligations concerning the environment. Accordingly, whenever possible, we will carry out our activities in a way that will let us make better use of resources with the prevention of environmental pollution as a priority consideration.
Actions
Reduce and control atmospheric pollution
At present we are in compliance with legislation on atmospheric emissions, carrying out the regular controls required. All products classified, on account of their contents, as carcinogenic, mutagenic and toxic for reproduction have been eliminated. A thermic treatment plant has been installed to treat emissions and thus comply with Royal Decree 117/2003, involving an investment of 450,000 €.
Optimize consumption of natural resources
The goal centres on reducing consumption of water. To achieve this, the old plate developing machines have been replaced with others that reduce consumption by more than 50%. Analytical controls of sewage are carried out regularly, in compliance with ruling legislation. In line with this, work is being carried out on the installation of industrial evaporators for the recovery of this water.
Improve waste management
Our goal is aimed at reducing the generation of waste. Transformers with PCB content have been eliminated. An area has been set aside for the location of special waste, protected from meteorological agents and at which retention ponds have been placed to ensure there are no incidents caused by leaks or escapes. All waste is managed by authorized processors.
Reduce the generation of waste
In line with this aim consumption of alcohol has been reduced to the absolute minimum essential. A study is being carried out on waste minimization, consisting of the installation of an industrial evaporator which will be used for the processing of all aqueous liquid waste, with a reduction in the waste to be treated of more than 70%.
Corporate social responsibility
In this aspect, Litografía Rosés applies environmental sustainability policies, by having 80% of the paper it uses supplied by FSC chain of custody certificate-holders.
Improve communication outside the company concerning environmental management
Our goal is to provide information on environmental management, by updating our website, reporting on the actions being taken in this respect.
With all these measures, Litografía Rosés aims to obtain ISO 14001:2004 certification in the near future.
